Camino Primitivo
Towards Hospitales overlooking the ascent to the east, Asturias, Spain

The Camino Primitivo is one of the oldest caminos of all St. James Ways. This camino got its name from being an old path. It starts at the San Salvador Cathedral in Oviedo (capital of Asturias) and leads westbound to Galicia's capital Santiago de Compostela, passing many mountains of the Western Cantabrian Mountains.

It is recommended to start the Camino de San Salvador in León, walking for an additional 5 to 7 days to Oviedo, and then to continue on the Camino Primitivo all the way to Santiago.
